German Flags

Germany is made up of 16 states. Each of these regions has a state flag that has been handed down to them through the toils and triumphs of Germany’s turbulent history. The simple version of the state flag is known as the “civil flag”. Once affixed with the state Coat of Arms, the flag is referred to as the “state service flag” and is for government use only.
