ASU Club Sponsor
Did you know that with over 63,000 students Arizona State University is the largest college campus in the nation, and over 90% of the students surveyed say that they are more likely to purchase goods or services from companies that they know support student clubs and organizations?
Together we can reach these students. Here’s how…
- As a student organization of Arizona State University we have the ability to include our sponsors in the exclusive marketing of retail’s most lucrative demographic, college students. There is no other way for outside vendors to be granted permission. In addition to the advantages extended directly from ASU we also offer your company exposure to our online audience.
- Did you notice the revolving banner at the bottom of every page on our website? Having an advertisement for your company with a link to your website is only one of many perks that are extended to all of our sponsors. Our website’s traffic has exponentially grown over the last few semesters. With recent updates to our search engine optimization, in combination with recent recruiting campaigns in the community, we expect to see this trend continue over the next few years.
How much money are you asking for?
We are not asking for money. There are many ways companies and organizations can sponsor us and not all of them involve a monetary donation. Not that we don’t take pecuniary donations, we most gratefully do, but that’s not the only way you can contribute.
If not a monetary donation, what then?
In past semesters we have had bars give our members small discounts in return for us holding our biweekly meetings at their bar (they got their money out of us one ounce at a time), restaurants sell their food at our events (we charged them nothing and they set prices on food), discounts on other products and services in exchange for bulk or recurring purchases, etc. The typical forms of sponsorship are as follows:
- Component Donations (e.g. tents, flags, balloons, etc.)
- Donation of Business Services (e.g. club discounts, participate in one of our events, etc).
- Cash Sponsorship (e.g. fixed amount of donated funds to be applied to club expenses).
Be creative, we’re open to offers.
Why wouldn’t we just go directly through ASU?
The only way to obtain a vendor contract with ASU is through a student organization. Of course exceptions are made for high dollar investors. ASU intentionally limits marketing access to smaller investors as a way to direct funds to the student organizations that are proactive enough to take advantage of the opportunity.
What requirements does ASU have of us?
This depends on the nature of your presence on campus. If you will be distributing product(s) then ASU must check the exclusivity rights of their investors for conflicts of interest. If you will be selling food then ASU must make sure that health standards are being met. If you would like to setup a vendor booth on ASU’s campus then you must provide proof of insurance. Other than product distribution, food service, and general insurance there really isn’t much in the way of legalities. In any case we do all the paperwork.
We don’t have time to deal with all of the legal concerns.
Our staff is comprised entirely of upper class students and university faculty. That means we are all weathered veterans in the war against bureaucratic red tape. We will fill out all the stacks of forms, stand in all the perpetual lines, wander through the tangled mazes of automated teller machines, etc. If we forget to check some box or initial some line that in some way threatens your gain in our agreement then you will be exonerated of all obligation.
What benefits are there for us?
As a student organization we are one of the only avenues available for outside marketing to make its way on campus. Unfortunately administration only allows us to invite our sponsors on campus 10 days a semester, so space is limited. The good news is that club events do not count against our allotted time.
Hopefully we have provided enough information for you to see the tremendous benefits of becoming one of our sponsors. If you do have any questions that we did not address here then contact us and we will respond as quickly as possible.
